Background:

Dr. Darrow is a native New Yorker, who grew up in North Carolina. He attended The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University for medical school and completed his residency at the J. Willis Hurst Internal Medicine Residency Program at Emory University School of Medicine. 

After his training, he worked as a Hospitalist at Emory St. Joseph’s Hospital for several years. During his time there, he was a member of the Patient Safety Quality Measures Committee, the SIBR Planning/Leadership Committee, the Telemetry Utilization Committee, the Teletracking Committee, the Hospital Medicine Clinical Education Updates Committee, and the COPD Workgroup. He was also a Co-Medical Director of the Pulmonary Floor. There, he also carried a clinical appointment to the Emory School of Medicine as an Assistant Professor of Medicine. 

He came to our program in 2018 as a core faculty member in Internal Medicine. He has assisted various program committees in the interim and carries clinical appointments to the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and Augusta University/University of Georgia Partnership School of Medicine as a Clinical Assistant Professor. 

In 2021, he took on the role of Northside Gwinnett Transitional Year Residency Program Associate Program Director and took over the role of Program Director for the Transitional Year Residency Program in 2022, a position he currently maintains.

He is a member of the American College of Physicians, the American Association for Physician Leadership, and the Association for Hospital Medical Education. 

Outside of his work, he enjoys exploring Atlanta’s culinary scene, cooking, traveling, skiing, running, and spending time with his family.
