Background: Dr. Kendra Courtney is a board-certified Internal Medicine and Pediatrics physician and Core Faculty member in the Internal Medicine Residency Program at Northside Hospital Gwinnett. She is passionate about caring for patients across the lifespan while helping train the next generation of physicians.

A graduate of the University of Mississippi Medical School, Dr. Courtney then completed her Internal Medicine-Pediatrics residency training at the same institution. Prior to joining NHG as a faculty, she served as an academic hospitalist at the G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery VA Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi.

In addition to her faculty responsibilities, Dr. Courtney serves as the Internal Medicine Clerkship Director for third-year medical students within the Northside Hospital Gwinnett. She is actively involved in resident and medical student education through clinical teaching, mentorship, curriculum development, simulation training, and professional development initiatives. Her academic interests include preventive medicine, chronic disease management, physician wellness, patient education, and healthcare communication.

Dr. Courtney serves on the Georgia Chapter of the American College of Physicians Early Career Physicians Council, where she is committed to supporting physician engagement, mentorship, and professional development. She is also the creator and host of The Honest Handoff, an educational podcast focused on mentorship, career development, and practical lessons in medicine.

Throughout her career, Dr. Courtney has been recognized for her commitment to education, advocacy, and service. She believes that meaningful healthcare begins with strong relationships, thoughtful communication, and empowering patients, learners, and colleagues to navigate complex decisions with confidence
