Family Medicine Residents Scholarly Activity

 

There is a strong focus on faculty and resident scholarly activity, including research and quality improvement projects incorporating evidence-based medicine.

The family medicine faculty are dedicated to creating an environment of clinical inquiry backed by a robust curriculum for scholarly activity.

We are affiliated with the Family Practice Inquiry Network (FPIN) and as such residents actively participate in generating Help Desk Answers (HDA) and American Family Physicians Good Evidence Matters (GEMS)  both of which are point of care resources for Family Physicians. Our residents have published papers in FPINs Evidence Based Practice, The American College of Osteopathic Family Physician’s journal - Osteopathic Family Physician (OFP) Journal, and the American Academy of Osteopathy (AAO) journal. Our faculty Physicians serve as mentors due to their extensive clinical and research experience and are also published in the Journal of American Board of Family Medicine, American Family Physician (AFP) – Journal of the American Academy of Family Physicians and The Journal of Family Practice (JFP).
