Background: Dr. Lee joined Northside Hospital Gwinnett’s Internal Medicine Residency Program in 2016 as a resident physician. Following his Chief Resident PGY-3 year, he transitioned to faculty at Northside Hospital Gwinnett. He currently serves as Associate Program Director and Inpatient Clerkship Director.
Dr. Lee has demonstrated a sustained commitment to medical education. His contributions have been recognized with multiple honors, including the Peer Teacher Award (2018) and Resident of the Year (2019) during his residency training. As a faculty member, he has received the Lesser Teaching Award (2021) and the Ambulatory Preceptor of the Year Award (2026).
Beyond his clinical and academic responsibilities, Dr. Lee is deeply engaged in healthcare advocacy and organized medicine. He currently serves as Chair of the Health and Public Policy Committee for the American College of Physicians (ACP) and has been an active participant in ACP Leadership Day in Washington, D.C. He is also the Secretary of the Medical Association of Atlanta (MAA) and is on track to assume the role of President. In addition, Dr. Lee serves as Chair of the Early Career Physician Section for the Medical Association of Georgia (MAG) and is a member of its Board of Directors. He also serves as Vice President of the Korean Medical Association of Georgia. His leadership extends to the Georgia Medical Political Action Committee, where he serves on the board. Nationally, he is an active member of the American Medical Association (AMA), representing Georgia as an alternate delegate. His advocacy efforts have been recognized with the MAA President’s Award and the ACP Outstanding Early Career Physician Award in 2024.
Clinically, Dr. Lee has a broad interest spanning both inpatient and outpatient medicine. He is certified in point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) through CHEST/SHM and leads the residency’s POCUS curriculum, with a focus on bedside procedural safety and education. In the ambulatory setting, he has a particular interest in lipid management and is currently pursuing certification in Lipidology through the National Lipid Association.
Dr. Lee is passionate about mentoring and developing the next generation of physicians. He actively collaborates with residents on case reports and research projects, with presentations at both regional and national conferences.
Outside of medicine, Dr. L enjoys playing soccer and training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
