Randy

Hometown:  Yatesville, Georgia

School:  U.S. Army, Gwinnett Technical College, National Highway Traffic Safety Association

Background: Randy has been with Northside since September of 2006 and was recruited into the Simulation Center in 2019.  He aided in the designing and tripling the size of The Diane Clark Center for Patient Simulation, Education and Safety.

His route to the Simulation Center took a different road than most. He started by serving in the U.S. Army for seven years running communications for the Patriot Missile System.  After leaving the Army he became a welder and an EMT.  After that he began working in both the field and in the Children’s Emergency Room at the then GMC Children’s ER. He worked there for around 13 years and during that time he began teaching classes to staff and patients alike.  He was then recruited into Learning Resources for the Simulation Center where he and his partner have lead the Simulation Center through an expansion and strive to grow the simulation center even more in the years to come. Randy’s outside the box thinking, understanding of the electronics and simulation equipment, medical knowledge, and ingenuity will allow him to help you make your training as realistic and interesting as possible.
